Amzerou is at the gateway to the Sahara dessert
in the Draa Valley. This ancient village is settled alongside the
Draa River.
Although the river bed is usually dry, two or
three times each year water arrives in the river which has lead to
the palm plantation and the little oasis where you will find hotel
Riad Marrat.
Riad Marrat is typical of the Moroccan styled
fortress or castle. It has been traditionally built of large solid
blocks known as la terre made from a mixture of clay, straw and sand
then baked in the fierce Moroccan sunshine.
